A new home for my fotomoments

Welcome to my new blog. I’ve had different blogs in the past – personal, photo blogs, and ones that I never really keep up with. I’ve decided to now create a permanent blog that is going to be home to my photography and journey as a photographer. I will still keep my tumblr but this will be where I really highlight some of my work and the shoots coming ahead. The past 12 months since working at MySpace, has been a real journey to finding what I want and where I want to be. I’m still not sure of where the road leads, but I am sure that I’m loving my life as a photographer.

I’m inspired by the art around me, my happy shooting crew (Team Aperfecture Claire & Danny, Dan,Victor, and others), the places I’ve been, and it makes me want to keep snapping and capture more amazing moments and people through my camera. In this blog, I’m also going to take a step back to photographs I’ve shot before. If there is anything I’ve learned this year.. its that my photos have definitely gotten better in time but that I’ve also developed different ways of developing my images. I have some amazing images that I took 5-6 years ago, that I want to redevelop and showcase and review.

As well as showcasing some of my work here, I’m going to post about my inspirations too, and the awesome people around me. My work in music for the past couple years has led to some inspirational connections and I can’t wait to share more of the photos I’ve shot behind the scenes and in the scene.

AND, the fantastic thing about my new blog is that it is shareable and all you lovely people can share your comments with me. I love to hear from people and if you have a great story you want to share with me or want me to capture in photos, I’d be very honored.

Thank you to my amazing and Len who has a heart of gold and helped me design and create my new home for my photos (official site and blog). We sat in a Starbucks for 6 hours putting things together, laughing, and creating.

LA Photog Shoot Out {Weddings}

Last week I attended my first group shoot with the SoCal photog shoot out group. It was held at the lovely and beautiful Ebell Club of Long Beach. This was a chance to pick up some new techniques and meet some other photographers. The theme for this shootout was weddings, so we were sent in groups to shoot an engagement couple, getting ready scene, bridal session, reception, wedding ceremony, and romantics. It was a really good day and everyone was great to work with. Click more to see photos from the day.

Comic-Con 2010

I attended my first comic-con this year, wow what a treat. I bought the ticket a year ago not really knowing what to expect. Looking back, I wish I bought at least a two day ticket. I attended the convention on a Saturday and met up with my friend Stephanie. She is a Comicon veteran, this would have been her 7th comicon. There was so much to see, buy, play with, and just be wow’d with. It was sensory overload. I got to see some of my favorite artists and cartoons and even some old school toys made new. I had a brilliant time and can’t wait to go next year. Since it was my first time, I spent the entire day in the exhibition hall and didn’t attend any signings or panels. Next year, I will definitely plan ahead now that I know what to expect and can attend different events.
