My Life | London Mates

Whether in sunshine or rain, the boys made time to hang out with me on this trip in London. We’ve been apart for years but after within minutes of chatting it was like we just hung out yesterday. It was so great to catch up after almost 4 years of being away from England. We’ve all grown up with many tales to tell. My friends here have been supportive of my photo work and it was nice to share with them all the things I’ve learned and whats to come. Hopefully I can come back to UK to shoot some weddings 😉

Baby Imogen | Portrait Session | Aberdeen, Scotland

A visit with Baby Imogen

A visit with Baby Imogen

A few weeks ago I flew up to Scotland to visit my childhood friend Sarah who is no longer just a childhood friend but a Doctor, a wife, and a wonderful mother. I went during a difficult time with her baby as Imogen had just caught chicken pox. Luckily, Sarah had checked before I got on the plane that I’d already had chicken pox so I was safe to be around Imogen. We’d originally planned to do some family portraits but it was rainy and since Imogen was poorly we decided to focus on making her feel better and play with her and distract her from her chicken pox as much as possible. My Life | My UK darlings

During my time in London and England, I have made a lot of good friends. Most have made me smile for days, some have made me inspired, a handful have pushed me in my ambitions, lots have shared some hangovers with me, but all have made me laugh more than I can say and bring joy to my heart. Some of these are ones that I may have lived with, gone to university with, worked with, and some I don’t even remember how we met. All have touched my life in one way or another and I’m glad to have met up with some of them on my trip to England this year. I’m going to be dedicating a few of my next few blog entries to them with some candid portraits shot on our hang outs. Unfortunately not everyone got their photos snapped because :

a. some were camera shy
b. I forgot my camera or left my SLR at home due to the rainy weather
c. shot on a little point and shoot I carry in my handbag

Journey | A Full Double Rainbow Morning | Aberdeen Scotland

I woke up this morning in Scotland to a full double rainbow in the sky. At first it just looked like a full rainbow, which I’ve never seen before. It was pretty glorious and a good start to the day. I just spent the last couple days in Aberdeen, Scotland visiting a childhood friend and her hubby and 16month baby who is so adorable. I’ll post photos up soon.

On my way to the airport the rain clouds started parting and it was nice and sunny. Too bad I’m not going to see much of the sunny weather in Scotland. Now I’m back in Birmingham, writing this on a train to Telford, and once I loaded the photos in Lightroom 3 I realized that actually what I saw was two full rainbows! The second one was just quite faint until I upped the contrast in LR3. Amazing. 🙂

Some photos below of the rainbow and a few of curious george on the train with me heading home to Telford. Tomorrow – London 🙂
