Sarah + Sirvtee | Domo Baby Shower | Cerritos, California

A couple weeks ago I was invited to my friend Sarah and Sirvtee’s Baby Shower at Cerritos Park East. They took over a section of the park with Domo themed balloons, decorations, and they even had a taco stand! It smelled so good when I got to the park and they had yummy taquito’s out for guests. The taco’s weren’t ready for another couple hours but it was fun to see it being cooked and prepared on a little mobile stand before we all ate them – delicious! I loved that Sarah and Sirvtee decided to go with a non-conventional theme – domo’s red, white, and brown! It was so cute! I only brought my 50mm f/1.8 that day – It was a good challenge to shoot with just one prime for the day! Click more to see more photos from the shower .

My Life | Home from London

Happy Halloween!

Its been a while since I’ve blogged, I’ve been shooting, editing, shooting, editing, working on creative briefs, locations scouting, and more editing. Amidst all the shooting and editing I’ve neglected my blog a little – SORRY! I’ve been busy busy with weddings, receptions, baby showers, band shoots, etc. So is the life of a photographer ๐Ÿ™‚ I can’t complain. A month ago I was in Londonย  and now I’m home in Los Angeles working from my studio at home. It’s been lovely being able to edit again on my 24 inch monitors. I have been missing London quite a bit, and my friend D’ette keeps posting amazing photos while she is still at school there. Don’t worry London – I’ll see you again in Spring! I owe lots more photos of my trip to London… I’ll be posting them up just as I finish posting some weddings and photo sessions from the past couple weeks!

Don’t forget to add me on twitter for latest updates and photo shenanigans! www.twitter.com/PamelaLinPhoto and find me on FB – www.facebook.com/PamelaLinPhotography

My Life | Oceans apart but always in my heart

I feel like my besties are all over the world. Some in Australia, England, America, and Asia. This post is dedicated to the three I met on my London trip that I’ve seen change from silly boys at university to young men making something of themselves in the world – but what has stayed true throughout these years is that they have always been a good shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, and great pals.

Amar
My Bestie Amar. Super Style Icon

Amar – The boy with the heart of gold and brought sunshine to the flat in the mornings. My bestie who now resides in Sydney, living the life in sunshine and always stylish. We met in university, flatmates after we graduated and went to London, and he was there when I first saw Armin Van Buuren DJ (that was a special moment). We live so far apart but I never feel like I’m that far from a good ol chat in Amar (especially now that we’ve finally figured out vchatting)

Kev
My bestie Kev.

Kev – The boy who got me through Uni. My bestie who now lives and works in London as a web developer. We met in university and without this guy, I might not have gotten all my notes or finished the course. Late nights working on our dissertation and playing snooker into the wee hours. He is Mr. Lazy but an awesome friend with heart.

Thanks for making sure I got home alright in London buddy ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you and Claire will make it out to visit me in LA!

Jason
Jason. Hyde Park, London

Jason – The boy who took me to Gatecrasher. ๐Ÿ™‚ Its still blurry in my mind how we met, it was during our first year in university.. things just clicked and we’ve been friends since. Always up for late night chats and coming to visit me from another uni. I love this boy to bits and he is a very dear friend. Heart of gold and always full of laughs. We hung out in London on my recent trip and he came out to hyde park with me to location scout for my next fashion shoot.

Thanks buddy! See you sometime next year in LA.. or Ibiza! ๐Ÿ™‚

Inspiration & Portrait | The Explorer : Jeremy Curl | London, England

Let me introduce you to the man that inspired me to really do something with my photography, Mr. Jeremy Curl, The Explorer. We met in a pub in Islington sometime in 2006 and he showed me his world of photography. He was doing all the things that I had dreamt of doing; shooting bands, making music videos, traveling the world as a photojournalist and creating art. At the time I was shooting with just a little point and shoot and I had millions of photos of my travels that I now wish I could blow up bigger than a 3×5! ย It was after we’d met that I finally decided to get my first SLR and started learning how to shoot manual and get the results that I wanted. I started shooting bands, portraits, and I took a photojournalism class. Jeremy showed me that there was possibility with my vision and it took off from there.

Jeremy is quite camera shy, but I managed to get a few good photos while we hung out in London. Here is my favorite.

The Explorer. Jeremy Curl. London.

Jeremy is a writer, a photographer, a film maker, an explorer, and a dear friend. In 2008, he travelled across the Sahara and was the youngest to travel across it by Camel and the first non-African to travel across that area without any motorized vehicles. Hearing all that he’s done sometimes amazes me! He is my age! He is now planning a trip to cross the Dankil Desert in Ethiopia without motorized transport. To support and check out his work, visit his website and fan his facebook page ๐Ÿ™‚

Good luck in Ethiopia friend! I can’t wait to hear all about it!
