Nicole + Spencer | Engagement Session | Pasadena, CA

Nicole + Spencer [Engagement]

My first post of the new year on 1.11.11. The first time I met Nicole in a coffee shop to chat about their wedding, I was so excited. It would be my first Palm Springs wedding. We chatted about wedding details and got right into planning the engagement shoot. It had been raining for almost 2 weeks straight in Southern California and we even had to reschedule our shoot. Two days before Christmas, a miracle appeared. The sun came out and delivered a beautiful day for our shoot. It was sunny but slightly overcast – perfect for portraits. Not only that, it was also the 6 year anniversary for Nicole and Spencer. It couldn’t have been a better day than this to celebrate their love story and get to know them.

We decided on shooting in Pasadena because they love the architecture there. I totally agree. Its one of my favorite cities in LA.

Nicole and Spencer also brought along their dogs for the day. So adorable. What a cute family they make 🙂

MM + Dave | Maternity Session | Santa Monica + Venice, CA

When my friend MM told me she was pregnant, I was ecstatic for her and we caught up over the phone to talk about her baby bump. We thought it would be fun to do a shoot for the holidays and I love her neighborhood where we shot. I met up with MM in the morning for her ballet class, she is an amazing ballet dancer even with her baby bump. Afterwards we picked up Dave and went for a walk around the park where we got the most beautiful shots. For the sunset shots, we headed over to the Venice canals. It was my first time there and it was such a beautiful setting (even on an overcast day). They were so much fun to shoot with and we had a lot of laughs. I even climbed into some bushes for them to get a few shots 🙂 Its not a good photoshoot unless your photographer is willing to climb some walls, get into some bushes or lie on the dirty ground I say! Here are some of my favorites (there were so many to choose from!!). What a photogenic couple. (click more below for the whole post)

I climbed into some bushes to get these shots … Dave took a picture of me with his phone which he’ll have to send me!

MM and Dave, thank you for sharing your day with me. It was a fun hang out day and I’m looking forward to meeting the baby 🙂  Happy New Year!

Reflections

Dear friends, family and followers,

2010 has been an amazing journey and while I’m sad to see it end (although still wondering where did the time go??).. I’m excited for the new year. 2011 is going to be full of more photo adventures, more memories captured through my viewfinder and more shoots planned for personal work. I’ve had such a good year meeting new people, making connections with people of similar artistic natures, finding new photo groups to be a part of, shooting weddings and portraits for wonderful people, and finding the inspiration in my heart to keep moving forward.

2010 was also a year I got to travel a bit more. I went on  a trip to see friends in Denver, a road trip out to the Salton Sea (which was awesome!!),  snowboarding in Utah and Tahoe, and a big trip back home to England which literally changed things for me. I have more travels planned for 2011 and I can’t wait.

A big thank you to all my dearest and closest that have supported me this year in my photography work. Your love and support means the world to me and I hope you will continue to follow my work and help push me further. I end this year with a lot of good feelings in my heart and excitement for whats to come. New projects, new people to meet, new places to see, new moments to capture.

Happy New Year all.

Remember to always be inspired and keep captivating 🙂
Look out 2011, I’m coming to get ya!

Love from,

Pam and the Super Curious Traveling George 🙂
