I recently went back to Taiwan to visit my Grandpa, whom I love dearly. From when I was little, I had always known him as a strong man. He played sports till quite an old age, enjoyed mah-jong with his friends, and always had something to laugh about. While he doesn’t play sports or mah-jong anymore, he still enjoyed calligraphy and reading the paper. My grandpa has such beautiful writing. I shot some video while I was back which I’m still figuring out how to piece together in a video program, which I hope to share soon. Seeing him smile and write seems not so long ago, and yet today I found out that my grandpa had a stroke and could possibly have lost function on the left side of his body. I am greatly saddened by this news and pray for his health, but also I feel truly blessed and lucky that I was able to see him before his happened and share laughs with him. He is still in hospital now and to anyone reading, please pray for my grandpa and recovery. Here are some photos from my last visit with him. He wrote some beautiful calligraphy on paper for me which I hope to hang on my wall soon. I miss him so much.
